On 25th May 2018, new regulations regarding Data Protection, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), come into effect in all countries of the European Union. This imposes additional obligations on us as a small business and gives you extra rights to know how your data is used. We want you to know that KPM Electrical Limited respects the information we hold on you and that we take the security of your information very seriously.
We will never pass on information we hold onto other parties unless information is needed for certificates when completed on behalf of clients. Information needed for certificates is owner/management company/landlord/other name and address and also the address of the property we are conducting the certificate for – this information will be shown on the completed certificate and emailed across to you.
We also require the name and address that the invoice needs sending to, should the work have been carried out at another address this will also be on the invoice. We will then email the invoice out. For those who do not have email addresses, the invoice/certificate etc will be posted out. When our company attends the address to carry out the work you consent to us using the information provided to allow us to invoice and complete necessary paperwork.
For those landlords/businesses/companies that we have on our records for reminding you when your portable fire extinguishers, fire alarm, emergency lighting or Portable Appliance Testing etc is due we will email you a reminder a month before the tests are due – if you no longer wish us to contact you please inform us by return of email and we will no longer remind you of the testing. Please note that testing is usually annual or sixth monthly. We will never email you any marketing.
